Looking for a social media & marketing intern for business & marketing coach Linda Basso. The right person is a creative self-starter who is solution-oriented, has a passion for self growth, and loves the idea of supporting purpose driven small businesses. We are looking for someone motivated, with original ideas, and the ability to contribute in meaningful ways in a changing environment.

Initial position is 12 weeks unpaid and could turn into a paid role after.
 

The intern will gain experience in social media management, content development, and general marketing strategies for small business. From creating graphic social media shareables to community management, the intern will be mentored, challenged, and exposed to many things marketing, design, and communications. This is a great opportunity to strengthen your graphic design, copywriting, video production, and marketing skills.
This includes social media strategy across platforms; researching what has worked for other solopreneurs; thinking creatively and brainstorming content to create; analyzing data on what strategies/posts are working and why, and what demographics are responding best; outreach to new potential fans; expanding social media presence through influencer partnerships and giveaways; improving SEO and general online brand presence; and general focus on increasing engagement. Basically, your job is to take charge of reviving & growing our social media channels.

Most work will be with Linda directly. Linda holds a Bachelors of Fine Art in graphic design, MA in leadership & sustainability and has worked worked on dozens of brands and hundreds of marketing campaigns for companies such as Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Jamba Juice, Xerox, and many small businesses. She is a recipient of a silver ADDY award for her brand work and has helped clients land placements in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Time, and the front cover of Wired Magazine. She now supports entrepreneurs to grow their business, increase their revenue and deepen their contribution by guiding them to find their authentic voice & path in marketing. SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT – Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest: weekly postings to these platforms, includes designing of graphics in Canva or managing creation of graphics by various freelance artists

CONTENT CREATION – Social media content, brainstorm & edit email marketing content, review existing materials to repurpose content, come up with blog article topics needed based on SEO research

COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT – FB group strategy & management, postings, Q&A, outreach to grow communities

EMAIL MARKETING - Develop email marketing campaigns and automation functions using Mailchimp, maintain email contact lists, possibly manage future email migration to new system

WEBSITE MANAGEMENT - Weekly maintenance of WordPress website including content & plugin updates, blog entries & promotional updates

BOOK MARKETING – Manage postings to variety of book promotion sites, field inquiries, manage Amazon ad & FB ad campaigns, research new book promotion opportunities, best practices and look to other successful author campaigns for ideas

MEDIA & PUBLIC RELATIONS – Manage press kits for books, field inquiries for speaking engagements, outreach to bloggers and podcast hosts to book Linda as guest
